RVP-1111 consists of non-replicative, pseudotyped virus particles that contain a sub-genomic o’nyong’nyong virus (ONNV) replicon encoding a green fluorescent protein (GFP) reporter packaged in a heterologous lentiviral (HIV) core containing ONNV envelope protein.

Reporter virus particles (RVPs) are replication-incompetent, virus-like particles composed of a modified viral minigenome that expresses a reporter gene packaged in virus-specific surface proteins required for viral entry into a host cell. Depending on the viral type under study, the RVPs may be composed of a heterologous, self-assembling core (such as lentivirus) and native envelope proteins or may be composed of only the structural proteins of the native virus.

RVPs can serve as live-virus substitutes in infectivity and neutralization assays, allowing for work in a BSL 2 environment. RVPs have applications in screening for neutralizing antibodies and potential drug candidates, conducting large-scale epidemiological studies and aiding in vaccine development.

Material Provided:

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of RVPs in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum. The vial should be centrifuged prior to opening.

Packing/Storage:

NR-61720 was packaged aseptically in cryovials. The product is provided frozen on dry ice and should be stored at -80°C or colder immediately upon arrival. Freeze-thaw cycles should be minimized.
